One thing that slipped my memory and hence my blog was the supposedly Independence Day celebrations at office. The first time in Ver Se' Innovation everybody came together for something non-technical.All thanks to our new HR person who took efforts in decoration, refreshments and games. Not that organising it was such a big deal. The challenge lay in getting all the tech people to spare a day off from development. And my part in this challenge was in draping a saree.Setting about to do something different few people decided to do some ethnic dressing. These people managed to convince the head into making it the order of the day.Without any bit of luck, I tried all sort of excuses to avoid this routine.I was forced to wear one for the celebrations shedding my usual comfy-formal attire.

Without much choice,I played all along and I did play quite well.We had some who-blows-the-biggest-balloon,most-candles-lit-in-a-minute and musical chairs for games.Quite unbelievably I won musical chairs!!
Rest of the celebrations was refreshments and some chit-chat about how we should do this kind of
stuff more often(as if we have the time for it).Anyways it all ended on a nice note with my manager making the most of it and leaving early. This was the perfect excuse for me to make an early exit from office. After all this I spent sometime in Forum for some last-minute shopping just in time to get caught in a endless(at
least that is what it felt like) downpour. With some luck I got hold of a taxi just in time to pack and make a dash for the railway station. My luck seemed to be at an end here as every auto-guy blatantly refused to drop me and my friend at the station. In the drizzling rain and bustling traffic we spent two hours in a cold-stuffy auto riding to Cantonment station shelling out 200 bucks.Must have some been good-natured soul to accommodate us at normal rates on a rainy, holiday weekend.
I had another one hour to throw around before my train would make an entry.I split it between sizing people around me and feeding some hungry dogs on the platform(much to my companion's disdain, I duteously served them an entire Little Hearts biscuits packet).
I caught hold of a few familiar faces here and there and said my due hi's and bye's after exchanging numbers. After some passage of time, presto here was my time.Time to start thinking of the nice weekend at home and of course review at college.
