I had taken a vacation from blogosphere due to my forever-tight work deadlines.I was stuck up in a vicious cycle of events where my work, academics and weekend plans got tangled up.
I have my first review (which was reflected in my status message as "Cheer up,the worst is yet to come!!")in college coming up on 18th and 19th alongside my work plans to make my changes live to public use.Contrary to my calculations my work did not make much of a progress and without completing my tasks I could neither intimate my manager about my review nor make the required review presentation. My college tutor also conveniently forgot to release the schedule for the review and hence I could finalize on my social plans for my two days at Coimbatore.
Finally after much reworking and thinking my mentor and myself agreed to approach the problem in a different way.I set up doing it and managed successfully up til this moment. With much apprehension I also informed my manager about the upcoming review and he agreed(unconvinced though of my need to take off on Monday and Tuesday). After much frantic coding I have got my tasks done. What remains to be done is get my code reviewed by my mentor and manager and convince them of the necessity of the rewiring and the hurdles I faced.
After all this technical discussions I have to go up to Forum for some last-minute shopping for relatives I missed out on my initial gift-getting spree. After that my most dreaded pre-travel routine, packing.I am quite bad at it and always end up taking home more than necessary.Wish I could master the art of travelling light.
But what is on my mind mostly now is my review.I am allocated the final slot on Tuesday which implies I would be privy to a sleepy-bored-uninterested audience.I also am blessed with the opportunity of having the Head of my department as a part of panel.I can be rest assured of some questions that are guaranteed to make one lose all sense of thinking. My HOD happens to have a knack to target the exact spot of your presentation where you have the least clue about.
But why dream so far, I have my reporting to do before that.I am wondering what questions will be posed by manager and whether I can convince him of my work.Let me play the waiting game.I will send him a mail detailing my activities as a prologue and then await the repercussions.
I will be back to talk about my nice and smooth(touch wood) ongoings at the review and also how my work(across the last two months) is finally done.
